Jess and Dane enjoyed a weekend of festivities before tying the knot on 7/3/2020 at the magnificent grounds of Eight Willows Retreat in Margaret River. As both country kids, the grounds reflected exactly what the pair had dreamed for the big day, an elegant farm-style wedding with a hint of rustic.
The pair decided on a neutral colour palette with whites, beiges, and browns with the addition of leafy greens and whites florals.
There was not a dry eye in the house when Jess walked down the aisle with her father to Ed Sheeran -Tenerife Sea.
Dane had romantically proposed to Jess one year before the big day at UWA, where the pair had first met 6 years beforehand, over a competitive bridging competition.
Both studying Sports Science at UWA, the pair met after a competitive bridging competition. On that same day whilst Jess stayed back to talk to their teacher, Dane waited for her to walk her 2kms to her car. Later on, Jess found out that Dane was parked in a completely different direction, but he was too in awe of his bridging queen he couldn’t resist getting to know her more.
The rest was history!
The newlyweds opted for canapes, lawn games, and drinks on the lawn with breathtaking lakeside views before settling in for the main meal, speeches, and dance floor to dance the night away in the function centre at Eight Willows Retreat. The function room was very new, elegant, yet rustic which suited the pair’s vision perfectly.
Jess’s advice for future brides and grooms:
“Enjoy every moment of the day itself as it goes so quickly. On the day, nothing else matters and you won’t even notice, worry or think about anything else that you thought you might have in the lead up. Also, don’t rush your ceremony…… we loved that ours went a little longer than normal.”
